With the introduction of the evening's commentary team, CL Party and Khan O'Kelly, action kicked off at CWF NEW YEAR'S KNOCKOUT 2019 with singles action pitting Steampunk Myzery against Teddy "TKO" Ireland Jr. The Steampunk didn't give TKO the opportunity to show off his hand speed, keeping the match mostly wrestling instead of brawling and trying to maintain control of the match. Ireland Jr. and his fans held out and finished big, with a pinfall victory over Steampunk Myzery to kick off the new year.
Tag team action was up next with Corruption's Dirty Daddy and Ethan A. Sharpe stepping through the ropes to take on the new team of Snooty Foxx and Chris "TNT" Taylor. A hard-hitting battle ensued with both teams using every opportunity to strike their opponent in the ring. The popular Foxx/TNT duo took the momentum of the match and were heading toward a big win when Dirty Daddy introduced a huge amount of some kind of powder and stole a pinfall win for his team.
Donald J. BitDon, Otto Schwanz and Khan O'Kelly entered for the first ever BitDon Rules match, pitting both BitDon and Schwanz against Cain Justice. BitDon Rules indicate a tag is not neccessary to enter the match for Team BitDon and it was a two-on-one match from bell to powder-covered bell. Schwanz switched the Wrestling Machine off and the Punisher Machine on and began tearing into Justice at the direction of the Donald. The double-team began to look somewhat ugly with Justice fading quickly at the hands of the double onslaught. Justice turned the tides and pulled off a pinfall win over both men out of nowhere to a supportive roar from the crowd.
Alexander Moss made his way to the ring to take on the cWF Rising Generation League Champion "Cowboy" Kool Jay for the title and a high-impact affair kicked off at the opening bell. Larger opponents may be thrown off to discover that the Sheriff WILL go toe-to-toe with them, but Moss took that attitude as a challenge and rose to it. It took everything from speed, stamina, skill and a little luck to turn the tables on the larger challenger, but "Cowboy" Kool Jay did indeed ride off into the sunset with the RGL Title firmly around his waist via pinfall.
Kozone and Victor Andrews entered to take on the CWF Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Redemption's Nick Richards and Michael McAllister in non-title tag team action and a spirited battle ensued. Kozone's recent mean streak and Andrews' attitude combined creates a formidable duo to face and Redemption had their hands full for a non-title match that seemed much more important to all involved. Redemption was the victims of effective double-teams early in the match and found themselves backing up at a couple of points, with one man isolated in the ring. However, the veteran instincts of the champions kicked in and turned the tide in favor of the champions in the non-title bout.
At the bell, the BitDon Corporation's Otto Schwanz, Donald J. BitDon and Khan O'Kelly hit the ring to attack the champions, or to supervise the attack on the champions as the case may be. After several moments of the surprise advantage, the BitDon crew was surprised to find "Rampaging Beast" Aaron Biggs and Mike Mars clearing THEM from the ring as the BitDon team exited the arena.
Coming back from intermission, CL Party is once again dismissed by Aric Andrews, who prefers monologues over direct interviews. He calls out Kamakazi Kid, who does appear in the ring and then doubles down by bringing his family and children into it. This is not going to end well, folks.
The CWF Worldwide Television Title was on the line next as Mike Mars was chosen to challenge his own tag team partner and TV Champion, "Rampaging Beast" Aaron Biggs. Biggs set the house rules at the first bell, telling Mars they're not wrestling for the belt, they are FIGHTING. And fight they did. They traded blows like sailors on leave and both found themselves on the canvas. Mike Mars began to show a little momentum and the champion turned it against him by returning to "wresltling mode" and dropping Mars on his head with a traditional wreslting move for the pin and the win.
CWF Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Trevor Lee and WWE Legend Shane "Hurricane" Helms were introduced for the main event followed by the All Stars' Arik "Ace" Royal, PWI International Heavyweight Champion Roy Wilkins and entourage and then Brad Attitude. As the two side began to eye each other, Cain Justice enters and stands with Lee and Helms to even the odds. The All Stars demand Trevor Lee put his title on the line, Lee quickly agrees only to have Brad Attitude demand that Lee's title be in play for the whole match if ANY of their team were to be pinned. Lee agreed. Then things got serious.
The top PWI champion and the top CWF champion kicked it off, showing off some of what the CWF Dojo teaches, holds, counters and scientific wrestling. After the teams cycled through tags, Cain Justice was singled out and kept from tagging in Lee or Helms on the ring apron by the All Stars and Attitude. After surviving the pummeling of the combined anger of Attitude, Royal and Wilkins, Justice made the important tag and the troops arrived ready to storm the beaches, eventually regaining the momentum in the main event and turning it up to "11". Cain Justice made the difference and made the win happen for his team, with Lee surviving with the CWF Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title still in hand and a masked superhero behind him.
Trevor Lee took the house mic and addressed the rumors on the internet and announced that he has indeed signed a contract with the WWE and will be leaving CWF after Feb. 2nd's CWF STRONGER event in Gibsonville NC, where he will put the title on the line. Jokingly Lee added that if no one beat him for the title, he'd just take it with him to the WWE and defend it there, but he did say that Cain Justice will be involved in the CWF STRONGER bout with the title on the line, but specific details have yet to be released on the match itself other than the date.
