The "Pride of the USA" Don Kernodle and Rocky Kernodle kicked off the 2018 KERNODLE BROTHERS TAG TEAM TOURNAMANET at the afternoon matinee session by welcoming the fans to the second annual event.
First-round action kicked off with High Profiles' Willy D and Shea Shea McGrady squaring off against the Gymnasty Boys' "White" Mike Jordan and Timmy Lou Retton for a spot in the quarter-finals. In an entertaining and hard-hitting bout, the Gym Nastys advance by pinfall.
Los Chicanos' Jon and Jeff Castro returned to battle the Cross Brothers' Aden and Christian Cross in first-round action. Both teams showed off their talents but the Original Cholos took the duke to advance to the quarter-finals.
Otto Wrestling Machine and All Star Mace Li were out next to tussle with the Carnies' Nick Iggy and Kerry Awful in first-round action. A battle of wills ensued with the bizarre Carnies advancing to the quarter-finals by pinfall.
Corruption's Ethan A. Sharpe and Cain Justice entered for the final first-round bout to take on Redemption's Michael McAllister and Nick Richards with William L. Cross. After weeks of positioning themselves for this very event, Redemption eliminated them by pinfall to move into the quarter-finals.
Quarter-finals action pits the first four winning teams against the entrants with first-round byes, so Los Chicanos entered to take on CWF Heavyweight Champion Trevor Lee and Chet Sterling for a spot in the semi-finals. Lee and Sterling take the duke to advance to the evening session of the tournament.
Kerry Awful and Nick Iggy return to take on "Rampaging Beast" Aaron Biggs and CWF RGL Champion Kool Jay. One half of last year's champions, Biggs, was unable to make it to the semis after the Carnies eliminated them by pinfall to advance to the evening session.
Chikara Tag Team Champions the Closers' Rick Roland and Sloan Caprice entered next to take on the popular Gym Nasty Boys' Timmy Lou Retton and "White" Mike for a spot in the semi-finals later in the evening. This match was both elegant and brutal, it was hard-hitting and displayed finesse, and a wonder to see. The powerhouse Closers reserve their spot in the night session by pinfall over the Gym Nastys.
Coach Gemini's All Stars entered Roy Wilkins and "Ace" Arik Royal to go to war with Redemptions' Nick Richards and Michael McAllister for the last spot in the semi-finals. Despite both men taking damage, William L. Cross' team advanced to the evening session by pinfall.
About an hour and a half later, the evening session of the tournament began, with 2018 KERNODLE BROTHER TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT semi-final action pitting the Closers against Redemption for a spot in the main event championship match. The incredible power and stamina of the Chikara Tag Champions was on full display with the deciding pinfall coming in under six minutes cementing their spot in the main event.

The popular Carnies found their night at an end after the Lee-Sterling team sealed the deal to face the Closers in the Final of the 2018 KERNODLE BROTHERS TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT.
Singles action was out next pitting All Star Roy Wilkins and entourage against Dirty Daddy. Dirty got a quick attitude and roared into control before Wilkins slowed the pace and took the veteran to the canvas for the pin.
Four-way Rising Generation League Championship action was introduced, with the All Stars' Mace Li presented by Jarry Carey before the introduction of Los Chicanos' Original Cholos Uno y Dos, Jon and Jeff Castro. Cowboy Kool Jay sashayed to the ring and wowed the fans with his new western look and attitude. Then he took it into the ring and survived a basically three-on-one battle for his own title riding into the sunset afterward with the title firmly in hand.
A special eight-man match was introduced featuring standouts from the day's first session, pitting High Profile and Corruption against the Gym Nasty Boys and the Cross Brothers. A high-flying lightning fast fireball erupted and lit the arena. High Profiles' Willy D and Shea Shea McGrady and Corruption's Cain Justice and Ethan Sharpe took a double tap out win over the Gym Nasty's Timmy Lou Retton and "White" Mike Jordan and the Cross Brothers' Christian and Aden Cross.
Mike Mars and "Rampaging Beast" Aaron Biggs were introduced for singles action and two bull elephants fought for dominance from bell to bell, or until neither could continue. Both men were counted out near the ten minute mark after beating the living hades out of each other with fists, feet and head butts.
The Final of the 2018 KERNODLE BROTHERS TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT was introduced with the Closers squaring off against Chet Sterling and CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Trevor Lee. The powerful Chikara champions took control early and manhandled both Lee and Sterling, setting a tone where the local fans' favorites didn't appear to have much of a chance whatsoever. Sterling fired up late, caught Sloan Caprice with an elbow in the corner and turned the tide of the match, and winning the tournament with the deciding pinfall.
Following the match, the Kernodle Brothers and William L. Cross entered the ring with the Kernodle Cup trophy to make the presentation. Lee remained on his knees and revealed he'd been sick for days but refused to miss the opportunity to perform for the people and the Kernodles. Sterling shook hands with the Kernodles, took the Cup and exited stating he was still the Johnny Weaver Cup Champion and that sometimes even Trevor Lee has a bad day.
