CWF Mid Atlantic's FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION kicked off on a sombre note, a memorial moment for a long-time CWF fan who passed weeks ago, L.E. Walker. Tears were shed in the ring and among the fans as it was explained that "his chair" would remain empty in his memory from now on.
Tag team action kicked off the night's combat with Austin Abel and Carlos Gabriel entered to take on the high-flying Cross Brothers, Aden and Christian Cross. Hard hitting brutality took the lead early but was sidetracked by some clever teamwork from the brothers to take an advantage in the bout and eventually in by pinfall over their larger opponents.
All Star Mace Li was led to the ring by Jarry Carey only to find Mike Mars was NOT about to participate in any sort of "All Star Tryout" as their scheduled singles bout began. Mars brutalized the Chinese All Star and pinned him quickly, only to find "Rampaging Beast" Aaron Biggs greeting him with microphone in hand. Biggs got the crowd hyped by telling the room he'd recently lost his tag team partner and was looking a while for a new one. Saying he's finally found him, the crowd roared, but Mars refused to be a part of it and stormed out of the ring.
As Mars exits, Donnie BitDon and Otto Wrestling Machine hit the ring and double-team the Rampaging Beast and try in earnest to damage his rib area and succeed. Snooty Foxx hits the ring to make the save and blasts Otto as a referee enters and a tag team match is announced and started. With the current rate of payoff favoring the new BitDon currency, Donnie BitDon and the Wrestling Machine finished off Foxx after he mistakenly hit his own partner with a pinfall win.
The 2018 Johnny Weaver Memorial Tournament kicked off next with first-round action pitting Corruption's Cain Justice seconded by Ethan Sharpe against "Party Starter" Keith Mack. Mack got the first laugh early but Justice got the last laugh with a submission win to advance to the next round of the summer tournament.
The ladies were introduced next as Aspyn the Mermaid squared off against the evening's Birthday Girl Faye Jackson for one-on-one action. Miss Jackson took the early part of the bout pushing around the Midnight Mermaid a bit but Aspyn took the match to the canvas and equalized the situation for almost the remainder of the match. Faye Jackson got a birthday wish granted by turning the match around and finishing off Aspyn Rose by pinfall.
Corruption's Ethan A. Sharpe entered with his partner in tow to take on PWI International Ultra-J Crown Champion Cam Carter in first-round 2018 Johnny Weaver Memorial Tournament action. Sharpe surprisingly seemed to be in control for much of the match and had one more haymaker connected, he could have very well won the match by KO. Carter, however, kept himself in the match and awaited an opportunity and struck in a timely fashion, enabling him to advance in the tournament with a pinfall win over Sharpe.
The CWF Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles were on the line as the champions Redemption's Nick Richards and Michael McAllister entered to take on the Castro Brothers, better known as Los Chicanos for the belts. All four went to war with the Original Cholos finally separating McAllister from his corner after working over a single knee for several minutes. When Richards was able to finally return to the ring, he soon finds himself on his back in the center of it as the Castros set him up for a doubleteam from the ropes. The injured McAllister hobbled to the corner and ruined their plans to allow the champions the chance to redeem themselves once again with a pinfall win, retaining the titles.
Coach Gemini and his All Star entourage of Arik "Ace" Royal, Jarry Carey and Mace Li entered, followed by RGL Champion "Cowboy" Kool Jay who cleared the ring with the bullrope and cowbell. The Lumberjacks entered next and surrounded the ring and the two competitors were hooked to each end of the bullrope for a Bunkhouse Bullrope match. The history between the two came to surface and both took shots at the other, both sent to the canvas in pain at one point or another and both seemed intent on winning the match. Gemini tied up the legs of the Cowboy in a Figure Four and then physically tied their legs together with the bullrope, but Kool Jay seized an opportunity and clobbered the Coach between the eyes with the cowbell! The Sheriff of the CW-Bar-F Ranch held on and touched all four corners to win the match and kick off a party in the ring with his posse afterwards.
Title v. Title main event action was introduced as CWF Worldwide Television Champion "Golden Boy" Aric Andrews and CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Trevor Lee find themselves across the ring from each other once again. The no time limit match kicked off with the TV champion brutalizing an almost stunned Heavyweight champion, who didn't seem to fire up until he was hurt a bit. As the Television title's ten minute time limit is about to expire, Lee finds the opening to pin Aric Andrews and take his precious Worldwide TV title. Trevor Lee celebrated with both belts in the center of the ring after match with Aric Andrews boiling at ringside looking disgusted.
